I know you’ve always wanted it. My video backdrop for ‘The Rocka Chaka Room’ streamed through the internet for convenient viewing on your own personal computer. The crossing signal guy bobbing his head to the beat. The oncoming headlights. THAT INCREDIBLE LAVA LAMP! It’s now available for the world to see. Share this with as many friends as you can. They will thank you.
Hey! I’ve got to write about something for my crazy weekend. You know, keep content coming onto my blog just to let all you good people know that I’m still alive and keeping busy. I guess it wasn’t really that hectic. It was just that it was Memorial Day weekend and I got to hear about what other people at work were doing with their 3 days off. Me, I work on all of those Monday holidays now, and as a result of trading days with a co worker, I had to work this Saturday as well. So I got a glorious ONE day weekend to honor our nation’s fallen troops.
But that’s enough about my boring work life, let’s talk about my musical efforts now. Continue reading →
Late this month, I’m going to head on over to Jack Straw Studios and record my performance for Sonarchy. That is a VERY long running program that airs on KEXP at midnight on Sundays. It’s a showcase that features all kinds of strange, cool and creative music. (Thus the totally ghetto time slot) Used to be that it was broadcast live, but that’s not the case any more. I don’t know when my show will be aired but you can be certain that the info will be on this site when I do. And don’t sweat it if you can’t actually be listening at that time. The shows are archived as podcasts for a considerable time afterword.
One could argue that I should be playing my songs since it should be out be then and I should be promoting it. But I don’t want to use the opportunity to produce material that will just sound a lot better on the actual CD. This is going to be an improvised, experimental set.
So here is my gear that I plan to bring to play: TOP ROW- Futureretro Orb (rotary sequencer), Vermona Perfourmer (quad analog synthesizer). BOTTOM ROW- Flame Clockwork (analog CV and gate generator), Vermona Kick Lancet (drum synthesizer), Vermona Retroverb Lancet (spring reverb+filter), Eventide Time Factor (delay). This is pretty much the same set up that I played at the Mercury in March. You may notice the prevalence of Vermona products on the table. It’s a odd German company that makes gear that seems to be tailored to suit odd people (like me)
That’s right, no more of having all the posts being labeled ‘Uncatagorized’! I’m meaning to add posts on a more regular basis from now on, and I figure I should take advantage of the mechanisms provided to help sort them out. Note that all available classifications are listed on the sidebar to the right. So if, for example, you only wanted to know about my music, you can click on music and get a listing of all related posts. This is still the sort of thing that will be more useful in the future, but as the different types of posts accumulate, it’s something that you might find interesting and fun to explore.
